MULANKAVIL COMMUNITY ENJOY SINHALA AND HINDU NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
With the intention of promoting religious reconciliation and peace among all communities, 65 Division organized a Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival at Mulankavil Public ground on 17 April 2016 under the guidance of Brigadier Sarath Weerawardena, General Officer Commanding – 65 Division.\r\n\r\nMany traditional and fun games included in the festival like pot cracking, pillow fighting, tug of war, cycle race, cadjan – weaving, climbing grease tree, fancy dress, selection of New Year princess, etc. \r\n\r\nMajor General Amal Karunasekara, Commander – Secutiry Forces, Kilinochchi graced the occasion as Chief Guest. General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, State Officers, Senior Officers, Other Ranks and civilians from Kilinochchi area took part in the event. Finally, Chief Guest presented the prizes for winners of army and civilians who took part and won the events of the festival.
