MURALI HARMONY CUP TOURNAMENT 2016 ENDS WITH IMPRESSIVE RECORDS

The Murali Harmony T20 Cricket tournament organized by the Security Forces (Kilinochchi) together with Guna Jaya Sathuta Padanama (Foundation of Goodness) concluded on 25 September 2016 at Central Collage ground – Kilinochchi. The T20 cricket tournament drew for 05 days under the guidance\'s of Major General Amal karunasekara - Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi and support of world famous cricketers Muttaiah Muralidaran, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardena. \r\n\r\nThe Murali Harmony cup is a reconciliation cricket tournament that promotes unity, goodwill, teamwork, the spirit of fair play and service to rural communities. The tournament was an opportunity for the youth of the area to display their sporting skill and bolster their self confidence.\r\n\r\nA total of 24 teams along with 16 Boy’s teams and 08 Girl’s teams were participated in the tournament. The final match from the boy\'s category was played between Mahinda College - Galle and Nalanda College - Colombo. After the tremendous competition between both sides, the Mahinda College - Galle won the finals and fortunate to hold the trophy.\r\n\r\nIn the women’s competition was played between sports clubs of Matale ladies and Nittambuwa Ladies. Finally, Nittambuwa Ladies are qualified to won the trophy. \r\n\r\nSri Lanka National team veterans and former world famous cricketers, Muttaiah Muaralidaran and Micheal Tissera, Mr. Kushil Gunasekara together with Brigadier Dammika Karyawasam The Commander FMA (KLN), Brigadier Sarath Weerawardena, General Officer Commanding - 65 Division, Brigadier Anura Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, Brigadier Jagath Rathnayake - BGS (SFHQ - KLN), Mahesh Welikanna - DIG ,Kilinochchi, Mr Ashan Malalasekara, Chairman - Arinma Holdings & Trustee Foundation of Goodness, Mr. Dashantha Udawaththa Group Marketing Manager – Tokyo Cement, school principal and staff of the Foundation of Goodness and a large crowd of spectators witnessed the final event which was played at the Kilinochchi Central School ground.\r\n
