A new Buddha statue unveiling programme was held at Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi in line with the Poson Full Moon Poya Day with the direction of the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe.
Religious programme was commenced on 24 June 2021 with a colourful procession of Buddha statues from the main entrance. The Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi received the Buddha statue and enshrined it in the shrine room at the temple in SFHQ Kilinochchi amidst the Pirith chanting. Futher, special Bodhi Pooja was conducted by the Chief Incumbent of the Madukanda Temple Vauniya Ven Kirigalwewe Wimalasara Thero.
The General Officer Commanding 66 Infantry Division Major General Ajith Dissanayake, General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardane, Commander Forward Maintenance Area Kilinochchi Brigadier Nilam Herath, Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier Deepal Hathurusinghe, Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Prabath Kodithuwakku, Senior Staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the SFHQ-KLN also were present at the event with adhering all Covid 19 precaution methods.
