NEW BUILDING FOR STUDENTS IN VIGNESHVARA MAHA VIDAYALAYA IN POONERYN

Vigneshwara Maha Vidayalaya is one of leading center of learning that 400 adroit students are educating, in Pooneryn, Kilinochchi. Lack of space for education is a major barricade that they face for few years. With the funding of well-wishers and Donors form Southern part of Sri Lanka and strength of Sri Lanka Army was blended and built a new school building and is used as the solution, by Colonel Kithsiri Ekanayake Commander 661 Brigade the leading character who identified the barricade of students, under supervision and valuable advice of Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilake General Officer Commanding 66 Division.\r\n\r\nAccording to the Auspicious time on 03 May 2016 Hon. Reginald Cooray, Governor of Northern Province declared opened and handed over the building to school children accepting the invitation that offered by Major General Amal Karunasekara Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi.\r\n\r\nThe school building was constructed on the patronages of Brigadier Priyankara Fernando Commander – 221 Brigade, Mr. Peter Ananda – Melva Company, Dr. Ajith Balasooriya – Colombo University, Mr. M S Safeekan – Holcim Lanka Ltd, Mr. Guptha – Iricon Company, Rev. Farther Felix Mellawa – Don Bosko Church, Mr. Ravilal Managama – Sanken Lanka (pvt) Ltd, Mr. Indika Vimaladasa – Western Megapolish Project, Mr. Nihal Rupasinghe- CECB Company and Sri Lankan Airlines members of Mr. Madan Devendran, Mr. Venura Perera, Mr. Nuwan Gunarathne, Mrs. Evenjalin Lepan and constructed by troops of 15 (V) Vijayabahu Regiment and 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment.\r\n\r\nMany invitees attended to this blessed ceremony as Mr. K Krisnendran – Divisional Secretary Poonaryn, Mr. K Murugewel – Zonal Educational Director Kilinochchi, General Officer Commanding of 57,65 and 66 Division, Brigade Commanders, State Officers, School Principals from Poonaryn area, teachers, students and a large gathering of civilians presented the event. During this ceremony school children, dancing team of Mahadeva Asharama - Kilinochchi and sathranga dancing group of Sri Lanka army entertained the invitees.\r\n
