ORGANIZING OF BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN BY KILINOCHCHI TROOPS

In response to a request made by the Kilinochchi Blood Bank over the paucity of the blood stocks, with the Direction of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, troops of Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi made arrangements to provide adequate blood through a blood donation campaign organized at the Army Base Hospital Kilinochchi on 18 March 2021.

Doctor Yashobha Thilakarathe, Consultant Transfusion Physician, Doctor BI Kumanayake, Doctor N Wijayathilake and his medical team of District General Hospital Kilinochchi, assisted to conduct the project. more than hundreds of troops including the Security Force Commander, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and number of senior Officers of Security Force Kilinochchi, as well as the Tamil locals in the Kilinochchi area volunteered to donate their blood.

Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier Deepal Hathurusinghe, Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs, Lieutenant Colonel Lal Kithsiri provided fullest support to coordinate and to make the event a success.

At the end of the programme, District General Hospital Kilinochchi authority appreciated the generosity and the support given by the Army for the saving of lives.
