RENOVATION PROGRAMME AT VAUNIKULAM IRRIGATION WATERWAY
The Major Water body existing in 65 Division area of responsibility is Vavnikulam reservoir which is the largest income resource for rural community. General Officer Commanding 65 Division, - Brigadier W A S Weerawardhana RSP USP IG experiential and identified the importance of refurbishing of this irrigation canal and laid the foundation in order to attain the aspect of Civil military cooperation.\r\n\r\nThe primary goal of the project is to assist the local population in general area of the Vaunikulam area providing access to uplift the civil military cooperation, which will facilitated to overcome negative proposition on military presence in the area. \r\n\r\nAs per the guidance of the Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc, approximately 1070 soldiers in 65 division and approximately 500 farmers in Vavnikulam have participated to this shramadana campaign on 07 Oct 2016. At the end of the event, 65 Division afforded lunch for all civilian participants.\r\n\r\nStatistics of the tank is mention bellow for general awareness.\r\n\r\n a. Feeding area - 39780 Acres\r\n b.
