SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI CELEBRATES VESAK FESTIVAL WITH KILINOCHCHI COMMUNITY
On Vesak day, Buddhist all over the world commemorate significant events of Gautama Buddha, the birth, enlightenment and the passing away, attending to many meritious activities devotedly celebrating Vesak day, SF HQ (KLN) troops organized \'Vesak Zone\' on 21 May 2016 at play ground of Central Collage - Kilinochchi an it will be continued till 23 May 2016 with the intention of strengthening the religious reconciliation and mutual understanding among all communities in Northern.\r\n\r\nVesak Zone consists with a \'Dansala\' and displaying \'Vesak Lantern\' which are color, fully created by the troops of Army, Air Force, Police and Civil Security Department - Kilinochchi. Approx 10000 civilians were attending to have free meal from Dansala and visit Vesak lanterns on the very first day and they appreciated this valuable religious event.\r\n\r\nHon. Reginald Cooray Governor of Northern Province graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and declare opened \"Vesak Zone\" for public. Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Brigadier Dammika Kariyawasam Commander Forward Maintaining Area - Kilinochchi, General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, State Officers, Tri services/ Police Officers and large gathering of civilians attended this occasion.
