573 Brigade which under command 57 Division has organized a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival, on 17th April 2018 at vaddakachchi Public Play ground under the guidance of Colonel Janaka Ranasingha commander 573 Brigade to enhance cultural bonds of both Tamils and Sinhalese people.
Major General Vijitha Ravipriya General Officer Commanding, 57 Division graced the event as the Chief Guest. Lighting of the traditional oil lamp signified the commencement of the event. The festival included a variety of traditional and customary games. More than 1000 locales took part for the event and sheared New Year spirits and joy with military personnel.
All Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and all Other Ranks of the 57 Division participated for the event.
