Troops of 572 Infantry Brigade in the 57 Division distributed 177 dry ration packs to poor families in the Kandavalai Divisional Secretariat area on Friday 02 July 2021.
Under the patronage and sponsorship of 1980 A/L Tamil class of Royal College, Colombo donated Rs: 474,000.00 to 572 Brigade to organize a donation of 177 dry ration packs, each worth around Rs 2500/= among the under privileged families living in the Kandavalai Divisional Secretariat area, which was initiated by Major General (Retd) Ravi Ratnasingham, who is presently residing in USA.
Commander 572 Brigade together with Commanding Officer - 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and troops organized the event along with 572 Brigade Civil Affairs Officer. The coordination of the event was done by the Divisional Secretariat Kandaweli, after selecting the most deserving low income families in Kandavalai Divisional Secretariat.
The General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, gave necessary guidelines to the Commander, 572 Brigade Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala, under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces-Killinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe.
The Commander Security Forces – Killinochchi, General Officer Commanding 57 Division, and Commander 572 Brigade, District Secretary - Killinochchi, Divisional Secretary Kandavalai, 572 Brigade Civil Affairs Officer, Commanding Officers of 6 SLSR and 14 SLNG were participated for the event.
