TROOPS ASSISTED TO YOUTHS IN 65 DIVISION AND ATTENDED TO CLEAN A SCHOOL PREMISES IN 57 DIVISION

Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi and with the direction of General Officer Commanding - 65 Division Major General Sarath Weerawardhana an awareness programme on small enterprises and private finance management was held at Wellankulam Army Farm on 23 February 2017 as civil military coordination activities which are implemented in 65 Division area.\r\n\r\nThe aim of said programme was raised to the youth who are following a course on agri culture at Wellankulam Army Farm and encourage them to inaugurate their own business or farm after the completion of the course. Mr. Balakrishnan Shivadeepan, Manager Central Bank – Kilinochchi branch made aware the youth. Further heads of financial sector in Thunukkai area also attended to the said programme and 76 of youth from the area raised many questions and clarified their doubt on their future.\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, with the aim of developing dairy farms in 65 division area, selected 5 dairy farmers were distributed 10000 twigs of newly introduced lawn variance by General Officer Commanding - 65 Division Major General Sarath Weerawardhana. Divisional Secretary Thunukkaimr Mr.Thanabalasingham, Deputy Director of Agri Cultural School – Paranthan Mrs.Shakilabahanu, Commander of 653 Brigade, Military Officers and Government Officers were participated for the said event.\r\n\r\nMeanwhile, Under the direction of General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, 571 Briagade and 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry jointly organized a sharamadana campaign at Kilinochchi Thiruwaiaru Maha Vidyalaya premises on 23 February 2017 with the supervision of Colonel Ajith Kolambathathrige, Commander - 571 Brigade.\r\n \r\nThe Shramadana campaign got underway in response to a request made by the principal to the Commander - 571 Brigade. Approximately 20 other ranks took part in the Shramadana campaign and cleaned the school premises. After the Shramadana campaign, the principal on behalf of the teachers and the children of the school extended his gratitude to the Army personnel for cleaning the school premises.\r\n
