A Guard Turn Out and a Guard of Honour to the outgoing Commander Security Force – Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana in accordance with military traditions to mark the relinquishment of his appointment as Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi held at the Security Force Headquarters premises on 10 April 2018.
A ceremonial Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by troops of 24 Gamunu Watch Regiment and 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment serving under the Security Force Headquarters -Kilinochchi greeted the outgoing Commander Security Force Kilinochchi on arrival at the premises in keeping with military traditions.
During the military ceremony at the parade ground, the outgoing Commander, Security Force Kilinochchi, symbolizing the formal relinquishment of office, handed over the official flag of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi to the new Commander, Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana.
The outgoing Commander placed his signature in a formal document to symbolize the relinquishment of office.
Further, the outgoing Kilinochchi, Commander delivered his farewell speech and commended excellent services and unfailing support of all the officers and other rankers during his office and requested the same be extended to his successor in the future.
General Officer Commanding 57, 65 and 66 Divisions, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, senior officers, officers and other ranke attended the event.
