With the guidance of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, troops under Security Force Kilinochchi flag launched another round of distribution of artificial limbs among the affected in low income group families in collaboration with the centre for the Handicapped in Kundasale area on 09 June 2018.
As a community assistance activity of Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, the programme was commence in close liaison with civil authorities and Grama Seva officials at first identified the most wanted before their measurements for artificial limbs were taken in consultation with medical officers in respective areas.
Value of Rs 1.2 million artificial limbs were distributed at the ceremony that was held at Harmony Centre Kilinochchi and 28 of civilians received these donations. The ceremony was presided by Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander Security Force Kilinochchi and Dr S.S Attanayake, Prosthetist and Orthotist and his team of the Centre for the Handicapped in Kundasale who are also the sponsors of the project.
The programme was organized by the 571 Brigade together with under command units of Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi. General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilaka, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of SFHQ - KLN, Brigade Commanders, senior Officers, Officers and civilians participated in the humanitarian programme.
