THE VISIT OF CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF TO SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS - KILINOCHCHI
Air Chief Marshal K A Gunatilleke RWP and bar RSP VSV USP Msc (Def Stu) in Mgt Msc (Def & Strat Stu) ndu psc qfi visited Security Force - Headqarters Kilinochchi on 04 March 2016. Major General K A D A Karunasekara RSP VSV USP ndu psc was warmly welcomed at the Iranamdu helipad by awarding a Honour Guard to Chief of Defence Staff with military tradition.\r\n\r\n On arrival in the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi, Chief of Defense Staff was awarded a Guard of Honour by troops of 7th Sri Lanka Light Infantry and subsequently planted a tree in memory of his field visit to Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi.\r\n \r\n Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi conducted a comprehensive briefing in related to the current situation in the Kilinochchi area and Commanding Officers of Navy/Air Force, which is located in the Kilinochchi area also briefed on their deployment and other commitments. \r\n\r\n As per the programme next event was visiting of Harmony Centre – Kilinochchi. Informative presentation on welfare activities and educational programmes, which are being conducted by Harmony Centre were presented and educate the Chief of Defence Staff. Finally, Chief of Defence Staff left his memories by signing of visitors’ book and Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi presented him a symbolic memento as a token of memory of his visit to Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rank from Tri Services took part of this event.\r\n
