SIGNALS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH DONATES WHEEL CHAIRS

The Signals Seva Vanitha Branch has donated wheelchairs to Lance Corporal Mohotti MMEMK RSP, a soldier currently serving with the Sri Lanka Signals Corps (SLSC).

Lance Corporal Mohotti sustained injuries during the Northern Humanitarian Operation in November 2008. He served as a Radio Operator and Radio Technician and was awarded the Rana Sura Padakkama (RSP) for his bravery in restoring communications on the front lines under extreme conditions.

Despite severe mobility challenges; including difficulty walking and the inability to sit or stand without assistance; he continued his service, working as an exchange operator with the aid of a crutch.

Recognizing his perseverance and needs, the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch decided to support him by donating two wheelchairs; one standard and one with a commode; for use at his home and workplace.

The donation took place on 17th April at 2(V) SLSC and was carried out by the Second in Command, under the guidance of the President of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch.
