A SALUTE TO SERVICE: RHQ SLCMP HONOURS BRIGADIER HMSI SENARATH ON HIS RETIREMENT

The Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) ceremonially bid farewell to Brigadier HMSI Senarath on his retirement, on 10 May 2025. The day’s proceedings commenced with the traditional Guard Turnout, followed by a vibrant farewell parade held at the RHQ parade ground.

In the evening, a customary farewell dinner was hosted in honour of the retiring officer, with the participation of Provost Officers and their spouses. The Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc and the Centre Commandant Brigadier MMMP Mahesh Kumara of the SLCMP extended heartfelt appreciation through their farewell addresses, acknowledging Brigadier Shamal Senarath’s dedicated and exemplary service spanning over three decades.

Brigadier HMSI Senarath, in his remarks, expressed sincere gratitude to the Colonel Commandant, fellow officers of the Provost family and all ranks for their unwavering support throughout his distinguished military career.

The ceremony was graced by the Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP, Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc and President of the Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Iresha Perera . Senior Military Police Officers including Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier R D Sallay ndc, Council members, members of Seva Vanitha Branch and a large gathering of SLCMP officers also attended the ceremony, paying tribute to Brigadier Shamal Senarath’s outstanding service and leadership.
