The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) recently marked a significant milestone, celebrating its 35th anniversary in a grand and memorable fashion with a serious of well-organized events that reflected the Corps’ dedication to excellence, tradition and camaraderie. The War Heroes' Commemoration programme was held on 14th March 2025 at the 2nd Regiment Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police – Giritale. A Pirith chanting ceremony accompanied by a magnificent procession was held on 27 March 2025 followed by an alms-giving programme. The celebrations concluded with a ceremonial parade and all ranks get-togather with musical evening on 25 April 2025 at the Regimental Headquarters.
The grand celebration on 25 April 2025 was graced by Major General U L J S Perera RSP USP nps psc Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police who attended as the Chief Guest.
The day's proceedings commenced with the Chief Guest receiving a resplendent Guard Turnout symbolizing the precision, discipline, and honor that define the Corps. The ceremonial parade featuring officers and Other Ranks showcased the glamour and heritage of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police's 35 year journey. As the rhythmic beat of drums echoed across the ground’s rows of smartly uniformed provost personnel marched in perfect unison, embodying the unity and strength of the regiment.
Following the parade all ranks derived together for a festive All Ranks Lunch fostering camaraderie and esprit de corps among members of the provost family. A key highlight of the celebration was the Troops’ Address delivered by the Colonel Commandant. Expressing heartfelt gratitude the senior officer praised the dedication, professionalism, and bravery demonstrated by Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police personnel.
The evening concluded with a spectacular musical show captivating the audience and further strengthening the bonds of unity among all ranks of the Corps.
The 35th anniversary celebrations brought together officers and Other Ranks in a shared spirit of pride and reflection. The Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army Brig RD Sallay ndc, Centre Commandant Brig MMMP Mahesh Kumara, Council Members, Other Senior Officers, Officers, Regimental Sergeant Majors, Non-Commissioned Officers participated to the event.
