The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) ceremonially bade farewell to its outgoing Centre Commandant, Brigadier M M M P Mahesh Kumara, in recognition of his distinguished and dedicated service during his tenure at the Regimental Headquarters.
The farewell formalities commenced with a reception at the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, RHQ SLCMP, on 14 August 2025. The main farewell ceremony was held on 15 August 2025 at the Regimental Centre, where Brigadier M M M P Mahesh Kumara was accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by an impressive Farmall Parade at the RHQ parade ground, symbolizing the Regiment’s deep respect and gratitude.
A Farewell Dinner was hosted at the Officers’ Mess in honour of Brigadier M M M P Mahesh Kumara, where the Staff Officer 1 (Logistics), RHQ SLCMP, delivered an appreciative speech highlighting the senior officer’s invaluable contributions towards enhancing welfare, infrastructure development, and overall excellence of regiment and Military Police personnel.
The events were graced by Brigadier E M I Ekanayake, council members, senior officers, officers and other ranks of the Regiment, marking a dignified and memorable farewell befitting a respected leader.
