Colonel of the Regiment Visits 1 SLSR

Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, upon assuming duties as the Colonel of the Regiment, undertook his inaugural visit to the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa on 9 May 2025.

The Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed at the Battalion Headquarters by Major M A N C Wickramasinghe RWP RSP USP psc, the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, and was presented with a Guard Turnout as part of the scheduled visit.

During his address to the troops, Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP underscored the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline and training within the battalion. He further emphasised the critical role that continuous and rigorous training plays in maintaining operational readiness and professionalism.

To commemorate his visit, the Colonel of the Regiment planted a mango sapling within the camp premises. The day’s proceedings concluded with a tea gathering attended by all ranks, of the Battalion. Brigadier H A I Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, along with other Senior Officers of the Regimental Centre, also attended the visit.
