 Parallel Seva Vanitha Reception Welcomes Indian Army Chief's Spouse

 A parallel reception, hosted by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) on behalf of Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of the Indian Army and the spouse of the visiting India's Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Bipin Rawat, now in Sri Lanka at the invitation of his Sri Lankan counterpart, got underway at the 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school premises at Manning Town, Narahenpita under the guidance of Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) on Monday (14).

A pre-school student in the Manning Town 'Viru Kekulu', offering bouquets welcomed the visiting Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President, AWWA of the Indian Army before Mrs Chandrika Senanayake warmly welcomed her formally to the occasion. Afterwards she was conducted to the pre-school premises for a cordial reception.

 A senior ASVU member afterwards briefed Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President, AWWA of the Indian Army on Sri Lanka's ASVU roles and assignments and explained about the projects, being carried out by the ASVU for welfare of those serving the Army and family members of departed ones.

Towards the end of the interaction, Mrs Senanayake presented a memento to the visitor and wished her good luck with her future assignments.  Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President, AWWA reciprocated the gesture and left her signature in the  ASVU Visitors' Book.

During the same interaction, pre-school kids displayed their artistic talents before the day's Chief Guest and the distinguished gathering, comprised of Mrs Chandrika Senanayake and Mrs Anusha Fernando, Vice President, ASVU, Mrs Manisha Vidyananda, Lady In-charge of the pre-school, senior Seva Vanitha members, teachers and other invitees as entertaining features. Their presentations, coloured with songs, dancing and other features attracted  the attention of the Chief Guest and all attendees.

Kids, parents and several invitees were associated with the formal reception.
