Final Exercise of United Nations Military Observer Course (UNMOC) – 2020 was conducted by the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on Friday (31) and Saturday (01). Ex-Suriyagamana is a Field Training Exercise (FTX) and the exercise conducted in the general area Egaloya, Kelinkanda and Maragahadeniya. All Student Officers (39 Student Officers including 3 Lady Officers) of UNMOC – 2020 participated in the exercise.

All arrangements for the exercise were organized and facilitated by the Chief Instructor, Lt Col RA Samaranayaka USP psc on the guide lines given by the Commandant, Brig RADS Shantha Ranaweera RWP RSP USP psc.

The exercise designed to test the ability of the Military Observers in understanding the mission environment and the functioning of the Force HQ, Sector HQ and Team Site (FHQ, SHQ, TS) in a multidimensional peacekeeping operations. This exercise has become an imperial part of the course and challenging opportunity for growth and personal development of the Student Officers.
