A delegation from the High Commission of Canada, Colombo paid a courtesy visit to Headquarters - East on Monday the 18th of September 2023. Mr. Harsha Senanayake, Security/ Readiness Programme Officer, and Mr. Ron Bebusschere of Military Police Security Services of Canadian High Commission made the first call to Commander, Security Forces East, starting the “Readiness Programme Outreach” to Eastern Province.

The 4th Battalion Gemunu Watch started battalion training on Monday (18 September) at the Battalion Training School – Punani and Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne participated as the Chief Guest on the occasion and delivered the opening address speech. Commander Security Forces – East highlighted the worth of this training as a soldier to the troops. Also, he wished the best of luck to all participants for the success of the training.
