In order to start the second stage of the restoration project of the ‘Deegawapiya’ Dagaba in Ampara, held a Pirith chanting programme on Sunday (09 July) evening at the Deegawapiya temple premises. The 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery troops under the supervision of the 233 Infantry Brigade erected a "Sangawasa" for Sri Gamunu Viharaya at Sinhapura and handed over it to the Dikelle Ghanapradeepalankara, Nayaka Thero of the temple. During a simple ceremony the newly constructed "Sangawasa" was handed over in the hands of Major General Darshana Wijesekera, the Eastern Commander on Sunday (02 July).
