The Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police officially took over the customary duty of Ceremonial Guard at the President House from the Sri Lanka Air Force with effect from 01 April 2019 for period 06 month.

Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police conducted Officers’ Training Day on 26 March 2019 at the Regimental Headquarters and events organized by 5th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. Training Day commenced with Physical Training and Drill sessions. Capt DMRN Abeyrathna, conducted a Individual presentation on – “Hambanthota port and its effect to Sri Lanka Economy” at the Officers’ Mess. Further , Capt RGDP Rajapaksha, Capt AC Madanayake, Capt NDCN Batagoda, Capt GS Elabodage and Lt VGP Chathuranga conducted a Group presentation on - “Indian Ocean as a Geostrategic Hotspot and its Implications on Sri Lanka’’.

The visit of Commander FMA (KIN) and Colonel Commandant of SLCMP MAJ Gen DKGD Serisena USP to the School of military police was held on 20thFebruary 2019.The events commenced with Drive pass to the colonel commandant , opening of newly constructed SMP main office complex, opening of newly constructed cook house, troops address ,group photograph and all ranks lunch.

The visit of the provost marshal of Sri Lanka Army Brig LPR Premalal USP to the School of Military Police was held on 12th February 2019. The events commenced with school commandant Briefing regarding the present station of school, troops address, all ranks tea, tree planting and group photograph.

The Colonel Commandant - Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and Commander of FMA (KLN) Maj Gen DKGD Sirisena USP made his official visit to 5 SLCMP on 19 March 2019.Having inspected the Guard Turnout awardedby the Troop of the respective unit. Colonel Commandant then declared open the newly constructed campanile, Cook House, Wo's&Sgt Mess Kitchen and unit name board on the special invitation of the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel HAHC Alwis USP. Colonel Commandant was addressed the all ranks and attended to the all rank tea party.

The Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and FMA (KLN) Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Maj Gen DKGD Sirisena USP made his official visit on 23 February 2019 in the 4 SLCMP which is established at kankesanthurai. Having inspected the Guard Turnout awarded by the troops of the respective unit, Further; Group Photograph, Troops Address and the event concluded with an All Ranks Lunch. A tree was planted to commemorate the event. Many Senior, Junior Officers and ORs participated the event.
