    On 30th July 2025, a compassionate visit was undertaken to Abhimansala 3 – Kurunegala Wellness Centre, led by Mrs. Idunil Jayakody, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch. The visit aimed to inquire into the well-being of the brave war heroes undergoing residential care at the facility.

  • SLSR Joins Island-wide Beach Cleaning Drive

    The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) took part in the island-wide beach cleaning campaign organized by the Sri Lanka Army on 29 July 2025, under the theme “Beautiful Coastline – An Attractive Tourism Destination.” As part of the “Clean Sri Lanka” program, SLSR joined the drive to clean the Puttalam and Thalavila coastline, aiming to enhance coastal beauty and reduce marine pollution.

  • Warrant Officer I Pradeep of Sinha Regiment Wins Silver and Sets Sri Lanka Record at Asia Pacific & African Power Lifting Championship 2025

    Warrant Officer 1 S S Pradeep of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment clinched the Overall Silver Medal at the Asia Pacific and African Power Lifting Championship 2025, while setting a new Sri Lanka record with an impressive total squat of 605 kg in the 59 kg weight class.

  • 15th Commemoration of Fallen War Heroes in Mullaitivu Attack

    The annual commemoration ceremony to honour the fallen war heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Mullaitivu Camp against the LTTE attack in July 1996 was held on 17 July 2025 at the Mullaitivu War Memorial. The ceremony was organized by the 9th Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.

    The 34th commemorative ceremony for the late Corporal Gamini Kularatne PWV, who valiantly sacrificed himself defending the Army camp at Elephant Pass on 14 July 1991, took place on 14 July 2025 at the monument dedicated to his memory.

  • Annual Commemoration of Captain Saliya Aladeniya PWV Held in Kokavil

    The annual commemoration ceremony of Captain Saliya Aladeniya PWV of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), was held on 11 July 2025 at Kokavil, paying tribute to his supreme sacrifice and honouring the brave soldiers who valiantly defended the Kokavil Camp against LTTE forces on 11 July 1990.

  • SLSR Conducts a Lecture on Mental Health and a Satisfied Life

    Under the guidance of Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, Deputy Commander of Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), an informative and timely lecture on "Mental Health and a Satisfying Life" was held on 3 July 2025. This deeply moving lecture was conducted by Brigadier (Dr.) R M M Monaragala USP, Consultant Psychiatrist, and his team from the Army Mental Health Unit. During the programme, the participants impart an insightful education on mental health and how to achieve a satisfied and success life as a military person.

  • SLSR Conducts a Tree Plantation Programme

    The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) launched a tree-planting programme on 20 June 2025, initiating the planting of 2,000 saplings. This meaningful initiative, driven by the visionary concept of the Colonel of the Regiment of SLSR, Major General J K R Jayakody RWP USP, and carried out under the close supervision of the Centre Commandant of SLSR, Brigadier H A I Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, reflects SLSR’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability and national efforts toward a cleaner, greener Sri Lanka.
