  • VICTORY PARADE - 2019

    In accordance with a concept of the Commander of the Army, ‘ the Dasawarshabisheka ’, a walk for peace was conducted in the responsible area of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) under the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP VSV USP ndu. This peace walk was organized on 22 May 2019 in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the victory over terrorism. Further, 96 officers and 630 other ranks from Divisions, Brigades and Units of this Headquarters took part in this peace walk in order to make it a success.

  • TROOPS PARTICIPATED IN A TIMELY LECTURE.

    A lecture was conducted on drug prevention and the benefits of a drugs free society by Mr Ajith Nawagamuwa, the Head of the Law Department, The National Centre of drug information on 15 May 2019 at the lecture hall of Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS). This timely lecture was organized with the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G J L Waduge RWP RSP USP ndu.

  • NEW STAFF OFFICER 1 (ADMIN) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel G R G Ranasinghe of Gajaba Regiment assumed duties as the new Staff Officer 1 (Admin) at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) at an auspicious time on 13 May 2019 at the office premises.

  • THE DEFENSE SECRETARY VISITS KANDY

    The new Secretary of Defense, former Army Commander Lieutenant General (Rtd) S M Shantha Kottagoda RWP RSP VSV USP Visited Kandy along with Madam Kottagoda. Firstly he worshipped the Sri Dalanda Maligawa and then met the Mahanayaka Theros of Malwathu and Asgiri Chapters. The General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP also accompanied for this visit.

  • MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO RESCUE TWO CIVILIANS.

    Military assistance has been given to rescue two civilians who got injured due to collapsing of soil embankment located near a house in Ranabima area in Gannoruwa on 07 May 2019 around 1630 hours. 02 officers and 20 soldiers from the Training School of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) at Gannoruwa engaged in this rescue mission and they saved the lives of two civilians with the support of the public in the area. The injured were admitted to the Teaching Hospital Peradeniya.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL ASSIST THE GENERAL PUBLIC

    The heavy wind blew across Arunapura, Diuldamana, Ihalawewa, Pubudugama, Damminna and Nidanwala has caused destructions to many houses and buildings. Further, it is reported that the fallen trees obstructed the road which leads to these villages. The affected area is located in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central). Therefore, the soldiers at batalion Training School, Walamandiya have taken prompt actions to control the situation in conjunction with the officers at Aralaganwila Police.

  • KANDY GENERAL HOSPITAL PROVIDED A WARD FOR THE USE OF MILITARY PERSONNEL AFTER 8 YEARS

    The Army personnel who are undergoing medical treatments and who had been with the injuries obtaining treatments from Kandy Genaral Hospital have been suffered due to limited accommodation and faced with inconveniences since long time. This matter was discussed with the Director Kandy General Hospital Dr Saman Ratnayake,under the direction of the General Officer Commanding 11 Division Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu. Accordingly a separate Army Ward was provided to the Kandy General Hospital after 8 years and it was handed over to the Army on 28 March 2019. The Senior Officers, including the GOC 11 Div , visited the Kandy General Hospital on 1 April, 2019 and appreciated the services of the staff of the Kandy General Hospital on behalf of the Commander of the Army.

  • ANNUAL SPORTS MEET ORGANIZED BY PALLEKELE VIRU KEKULU PRE SCHOOL

    Annual sports meet was organized on 30 March 2019 by the Viru Kekulu Pre School, Pallekele which is coming under 11 division in Security Forces (Central) area. On the direction of Mrs Anusha Nanayakkara the Senior Lady In charge of the Pallekele Viru Kekulu pre school ,the sports Meet was successfully conducted.Mrs Kamani Palihakkara the President of SLAGSC Army Seva Vanitha Branch graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 11 Division,Senior officers, officers and other ranks of this 11 Div Headquarters participated in the Sports meet. The teachers of the Pre-School as well as the parents of the kids assisted the children to successfully conclude the Annual Sports Meet 2019.

  • SUCCUSFULLY CONCLUDED AN ELLE TOURNAMENT AMONG UNDER COMMAND FORMATIONS OF SF HQ (CENTRAL) AOR

    On the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG,under the supervision of Major General GWDK Jayatilake USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 12 Division and Lt Col SJNNS Perera USP Commanding Officer 18 GW ,Security Force (Central) organized an Elle Tournament with the troops of Units ,formations and training schools under command to the Security Force(Central) and held on 15 and 16 March 2019 at Municipal Council Ground Monaragala. The tournament attracted a large number of participants. 3 SLNG won the Championship while 9 SLSR won the Runner up. Further, the General Officer Commanding 12 Division awarded trophies to the winners at the end of the tournament

  • 11 DIVISION HELD A GILANPASA POOJA FOR MAHA SANGA ON THRIPITAKA DECLARATION AS UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE EVENT.

    The Thripitaka was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage, the ceremony was held under the patronage of President Maitreepala Sirisena at the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic on 23 March 2019.This historical event was held with the participation of three chief incumbents of three chapters and MahaSanga under state patronage. Ministers and Tri forces Commanders also the participated the ceremony. Along with this historical event under the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General WRP De Silva USP ndu IG and the supervision of Major General TJ Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu the General Officer Commanding 11 Division, 10 senior officers, officers and 150 other ranks were participated for the Gilanpasa pooja to 4000 MahaSanga for the blessing of all military personals.
