    Secretary to the Ministry of Defence General (Rtd) Shantha Kottegoda, making a formal visit to the Security Force Headquarters - East, met senior Tri service, Police and STF officers and exchanged views on the present security situation in the area on Saturday (10).

  • SACRED RELICS ENSHRINED IN THE NEWLY-ERECTED STUPA AT THE SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (EAST)

    An adorable religious ceremony to enshrine sacred relics at hemispherical dome of the newly-erected Pagoda (Stupa) at the temple premises of Security Force Headquarters (East) was held on Thursday (01) with the blessing of triple gem, under the patronage of Major General Aruna Jayasekera the Commander Security Forces - East. The Stupa was constructed on the admonition of the Commander Security Forces - East under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent Rangiri Ulpotha Temple Trincomalee, Ven. Ahungalle Sirivisuddhi Thero, Chief Incumbent Buddhist Centre Welikanda, Ven. Delwita Mettalankara Thero and the Chief Incumbent Sri Sudarshanaramaya Temple Maithreegama, Ven. Anuradapura Dhammathilaka Thero, in appreciation of the noble service rendered by the brave soldiers of the Security Forces - East to defeat terrorism and bring lasting peace to the country. The sacred relics had been enshrined at Stupa with the honorable participation of members of the Maha Sangha and a gathering of military personnel.

  • BRITISH DELEGATION ON EXERCISE SPEAR MEETS COMMANDER SF (EAST)

    The Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Team (OLRT) of United Kingdom Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ), headed by Colonel David Ashman of British Royal Army, Defence Advisor to British High Commission met Major General Aruna Jayasekera the Commander Security Forces (East) at the Headquarters 231 Brigade Batticaloa, on 15 Monday.

Delvita Meththalankara Thero.

    Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith went on an observational visit to Zion church Batticaloa on Saturday (15) which suffered heavy toll of deaths and damages due to terrorist bomb explosions last 21st of April.
