  • WEST TROOPS CONTRIBUTE TO A MERITORIOUS PROGRAMME IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE VESAK FESTIVAL

    Troops of the 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery have contributed their efforts by conducting several fatigues to the successful conduct of the Vesak Pantheon and Vesak Zone, which were organized as aid to the newly constructed Buddha statue and the Dhaham Pasal building in Veyangoda Gunasiri Sangabo Viharaya on 03 May 2023.

    The annual Vesak decorations of Security Forces Headquarters (West) Army Cantonment Panagoda were declared open by Commander Security Forces (West) in the evening hours on 04 May 2023, prior to the first day of the Vesak Festival.

  • WEST TROOPS SUPPORT FOR SAPLING PLANTING AT PANALUWA

    A contingent of Army personnel consisting of officers and Other Ranks of 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery and 14 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assisted in planting 300 ‘Kumbuk’ saplings at Panaluwa Army Firing Range on 03 May 2023, upon the request made by the officials of the Sheraton Hotel, Colombo.

  • WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN ANOTHER COMMUNITY PROJECT

    With the intention of speeding up the island-wide National Dengue Prevention Campaign that is being implemented in present day, the Army troops serving under 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) assisted in conducting another dengue prevention campaign from 27 April to 02 May 2023 covering several areas of Attanagalla, Biyagama, Kelaniya, Wattala, Ragama, Ja - Ela and Mahara MOH offices after many cases were reported.

  • WEST TROOPS CONTRIBUTE TO TEMPLE RENOVATION AT BATTARAMULLA

    Under the close supervision of the 144 Infantry Brigade, Army troops of 1 Engineer Services Regiment and 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry gave their comprehensive cooperation as well as manpower for the reconstruction of a part of the 60 feet long and 20 feet high retaining wall that had been collapsed recently in the Aruppitiya Sri Shanthi Yogashramaya Viharaya located at Battaramulla.
