As the festive season unfolds with forthcoming phenomenal Christmas, the Security Force (East) contributing its share, held the 'Christmas Angelic Eve - 2019', the Annual Christmas Carols on Thursday (19) at Gandhi Park, Batticaloa before a distinguished gathering, including the Bishop of Batticaloa Rt. Rev. Dr. Joseph Ponniah as the Chief Guest and the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Rasika Fernando as the Guest of Honour. This glamorous event was organized by 23 Division and 231 Brigade in conjunction with the Christian community of Batticaloa, with the supervision of the Security Force Headquarters (East).

The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Rasika Fernando paid a field visit to Rehabilitation Centres of Kandakadu and Senapura on 18 of November 2019. The SF Comd's meeting with the inmates at the rehabilitation centres had mutual discussions with them and inquired into the programmes being conducted for the rehabilitation of youth inmates.

The three day long Army Eastern Games - 2019, one of the most distinctive events in sports calendar of the Security Force Headquarters (East), concluded with glamour at Security Force Headquarters (East) grounds, Welikanda on 21 September. The event was organized with an eye of providing an arena for young Army athletes to showcase their skills and engage in competition to promote sportsmanship. The Closing Ceremony was graced by the Commander Security Force (East), Major General Aruna Jayasekera as the Chief Guest.

As the first formal visit to the Field Formations, the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva visited the Security Force Headquarters (East) on Sunday (8) and met Officers and Other Ranks of the Eastern Command. On arrival, the visiting commander was received by Major General Aruna Jayasekera, the Commander Security Force (East) and several other Senior Officers.

An adorable religious ceremony to enshrine sacred relics at hemispherical dome of the newly-erected Pagoda (Stupa) at the temple premises of Security Force Headquarters (East) was held on Thursday (01) with the blessing of triple gem, under the patronage of Major General Aruna Jayasekera the Commander Security Forces - East. The Stupa was constructed on the admonition of the Commander Security Forces - East under the guidance of the Chief Incumbent Rangiri Ulpotha Temple Trincomalee, Ven. Ahungalle Sirivisuddhi Thero, Chief Incumbent Buddhist Centre Welikanda, Ven. Delwita Mettalankara Thero and the Chief Incumbent Sri Sudarshanaramaya Temple Maithreegama, Ven. Anuradapura Dhammathilaka Thero, in appreciation of the noble service rendered by the brave soldiers of the Security Forces - East to defeat terrorism and bring lasting peace to the country. The sacred relics had been enshrined at Stupa with the honorable participation of members of the Maha Sangha and a gathering of military personnel.
