Under the leadership and guidance of General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division, Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, the troops of the 61 Infantry Division Engineers Service Regiment and 2(V) GW successfully completed the construction of a new house for Mrs. KP Manel and her daughter. The house warming ceremony was taken place on 20 March 2024, at 0956 hours, with the participation of Deputy General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division Brigadier WMLS Dayawansa.

Under the instructions of Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, 01 x 30 of 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regimental troops went to SIYAMBALAPITIYA which belongs to KEGALLE, at around 1845 hrs on 20 March 2024 to extinguish the wild fire which has been occurred at around 1800 hrs in the area of SIYABALAPITIYA. After that 8 battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment could put out the wild fire successfully at 2102 hrs.

Brigadier KADTP Wimalasena RWP RSP assumed the role of the 9th Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade on 22 March 2024, at the Brigade Headquarters in Puttalam. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the brigade staff, and a guard turnout was presented at the entrance. Following traditional customs, the newly appointed Brigade Commander officially assumed his duties at the Brigade Commander’s office amidst pirith chanting, a sacred Buddhist ritual, and a sapling was planted to commemorate the occasion.

The opening ceremony of the newly constructed saloon took place on 18 March 2024. Major General Nalin Bandaranyake USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, graced the occasion and was warmly welcomed by Brigadier Upul Kodithuwakku RSP USP psc, the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, upon arrival.

The 1 Battalion Sri Lanka Army Pioneer Corps organized a School Bag Donation programme at Magurumaswila Vidyalaya – Walallawita on 13 March 13 2024. This initiative was conducted under the guidance of Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division, and Brigadier M W S Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc, Commander of the 612 Infantry Brigade. The aim was to foster goodwill between the Sri Lanka Army and civil society and alleviate the challenges faced by the community amidst the current economic situation.

At the request of the Disaster Management Center, Ratnapura, 2 x 20 troops from the Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Base Workshop - Udawalawa, successfully extinguished a fire that broke out in the Waulpane Aloe Forest Reserve in the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat.

On 10 March 2024, at 10:45 hours, 611 Infantry Brigade received information about a student from Wayamba University who fell while climbing the Alagalla mountain range in Rambukkana. The Quick Reaction Team of 611 Infantry Brigade and 18 troops from 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment swiftly responded to conduct the rescue operation.

Troops from the 6 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery organized a community project on 04 March 2024, at Dagonna Ranasinghe Primary School. During the event, they distributed stationery to underprivileged students to ease the financial burden on their families. The Commander 141 Infantry Brigade graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
