    In collaboration with Link Natural Pvt Ltd as well as under the directions of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school in Panagoda managed to organize a mobile dental care clinic themed ‘Sudantha Samaga Viru Kekulu Muwahasareli’ at Regimental Centre of Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 28 April 2023.

  • WEST TROOPS CONTRIBUTE TO TEMPLE RENOVATION AT BATTARAMULLA

    Under the close supervision of the 144 Infantry Brigade, Army troops of 1 Engineer Services Regiment and 2 (v) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry gave their comprehensive cooperation as well as manpower for the reconstruction of a part of the 60 feet long and 20 feet high retaining wall that had been collapsed recently in the Aruppitiya Sri Shanthi Yogashramaya Viharaya located at Battaramulla.

  • WEST TROOPS COORDINATE ANOTHER CHARITY PROJECT

    With the proper coordination of the 143 Infantry Brigade and 16 Battalion Gajaba Regiment of Security Forces (West), as well as sponsorship rendered by Mrs. Udyani Munasinghe and her supporters in collaboration withMajor General (Retired) T D Weerakoon RWP RSP VSV USP, another community project was organized to give away relief packs of nutrients, clothes and necessary baby items for 50 needy pregnant women and at the same time stock of school accessories for needy children residing in Karuwalagaswewa area after inviting them to Tabbowa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya on 22 April 2023.

  • WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN AN AWARENESS WORKSHOP

    The sixth agricultural knowledge improvement and leadership development workshop, themed "Haritha Niyamuwo," was organized by Wayamba Training Institute in collaboration with the Army personnel of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard at Wayamba Training Institute premises, Wariyapola, on 22 April 2023, with the participation of 70 students from Sri Nissanka Vidyalaya, Vidyaloka Vidyalaya and Uhumeeya College located in Kurunegala District.

    One Officer and Other Ranks of 14 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment belongs to 142 Infantry Brigade provided their lecture assistance to conduct a workshop regarding the topic based on map reading for the cadets of Mahanama College, Colombo on 19 April 2023, at the school premises as per the request made by the school authorities.

    Troops of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard under 143 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) coordinate one more community project to distribute a stock of school accessories, equipments and other stationery items worth about Rs. 80000.00 among needy students studying in Thambarawa primary school - Wariyapola, on 04 April 2023, at school premises.

  • ARMY SOLDIER CAUGHT A THIEF AT BOOSSA RAILWAY STATION

    An Army soldier, named Private Kumara R.G.D, who is currently working at the Garrison Engineer's station at 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa, caught a thief at the railway station in Boossa at around afternoon hours while he was coming to the station to attend a personnel matter on 18 April 2023.

  • WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN FINDING A CHILD WHO DROWNED AND DISAPPEARED IN THE PAMANKADA SUDUWELLA AREA

    Army personnel belonging to 12 Field Sri Lanka Engineers and 1 Sri Lanka Pioneer Corps lent their assistance to find a two and half year old child who has drowned in the 'Ranketa’ river in the Pamankada Suduwella area and disappeared while visiting a relative's house with his parents on 15 April 2023.
