At the request of Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Infantry Division and Kahagolle Somarathana Thero of Sidhuhath Foundation Galle provided 200 packets of sanitary napkin and 1000 bottles of drinking water to distribute among 242 members belong to 72 families affected by floods who temporary live in Hittetiya Rajamaha Temple in Matara.

61 Infantry Division joined the 74th Anniversary celebrations of Sri Lanka Army on 10th October 2023. A formal ceremony was held at the Division headquarters headed by the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc along with officers, other ranks and civil staff. The function commenced with the flag hoisting followed by the recital of the Army Song, Saluting the fallen war heroes with a two-minute silence and conveying the message of the Commander of the Army, adding sentiments of patriotism and grandeur to the occasion.
