    The second phase of the “Samanola Siri – Haritha Wandana” 2025–2026 National Program commenced on 19 February 2026 near the Palabaddala access road to Sri Pada.

  • SRI LANKA SINHA REGIMENT TROOPS SWIFTLY CONTAIN FIRE OUTBREAK AT GALWALAKANDA

    A sudden fire outbreak was reported at Galwalakanda, a team comprising one Officer and twenty troops of the 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was promptly deployed to the affected location to assist in firefighting operations.

  • SRI LANKA ARMY AND SUPREME GLOBAL HOLDINGS UNITE FOR ELDERLY CARE AT JANA SUWA YATHRA MEDICAL CAMP

    The Supreme Care Jana Suwa Yathra community welfare programme, organized by Supreme Global Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, was successfully conducted on 14 February 2026 at Sri Wardanaramaya Temple. An eye clinic and health camp specially arranged for citizens above 55 years of age benefitted over 150 elderly participants.

  • EYE CLINIC AND SPECTACLE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME CONDUCTED AT SRI VIJAYARAJA TEMPLE, THABBOWA

    Lt Col LN Karunathilake RSP USP GW , assumed duties as new GSO 1(Coord) of the 57 Infantry Divison on 10.02.2026 on an auspicious time. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 57 Infantry Divison extended their wishes to the newly appointed GSO 1(Coord) on the assumption of the duties in the new appointment.

  • COLONEL GENERAL STAFF ASSUMES DUTIES AT SFHQ (WEST)

    The newly appointed Colonel General Staff (Col GS), Col T K P M Dias RWP RSP USP psc assumed duties at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) at an auspicious time on 13 Feb 2026, invoking religious blessings in keeping with military traditions. The brief ceremony was attended by senior officers, officers, and other ranks of SFHQ (West). The event symbolized the formal acceptance of responsibilities and reaffirmed the commitment to uphold professionalism, discipline, and operational excellence.

  • 9 SLNG ASSIST TO CONTROL THE SUDDEN FIRE BROKEN OUT AT NIPPON PRIVATE INDUSTRIAL FACTORY -PARAGAHADENIYA

    It was reported that sudden fire was broken out at Nippon Private Industrial Factory (Helmet and plastic goods manufacturing facility) Paragahadeniya,Mawatagama, around 1245 hour on 10 February 2026. It was successfully assisted by the troops of 9 SLNG with Fire Brigades of Kurunegala and Kandy thereby, brought under control at 1840 hour on the same date.

  • 78TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION WITH CHILDREN AT GALMURUWA

    In celebration of the 78tය National Independence Day, 7 Gajaba Regiment of 57 Infantry Division, Department of Social Services together with Vocational Training Institute organized a heartfelt community welfare programme at the Vocational Training Institute at Galmuruwa, Madampe. As a part of the event lunch was provided for 18 children with special needs who are been cared and trained at the institute.

  • CONDUCTING AN EYE CLINIC AND HEALTH CLINIC CAMP

    The eye and health clinic camp for senior citizens organized by Supreme Global Holdings Private Limited under the Supreme Care Jana Suwa Yathra social welfare programme was held on 31.01.2006 at G/Welivitiya Vivekananda Tamil School. A staff of 19 from Supreme Global participated in for the programme while 300 senior citizens from the area were participated for eye and health clinic. A total of 01 X 09 personnels from 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion contributed for successful completion of the programme.
