The primary objective of the lecture was to inspire and motivate soldiers while improving their understanding of personal development, social values, and professional responsibilities as proud members of the Sri Lanka Army.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division, Major General W M P M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, accompanied by Staff Officers of 57 Infantry Division, visited the landslide-affected area in Kalugahathenna, Rideegama, within the Kurunegala District on 29th November 2024. The visit aimed to assess ongoing disaster developments, evaluate the status of emergency relief efforts, review preparedness for future emergencies, and inspect the condition of any Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) centers in the area.

Due to adverse weather conditions affecting the SF (West) AOR, troops from the 57 Infantry Division successfully conducted a rescue operation on 28th November 2024, saving three individuals stranded by floodwaters in the Welpothuwewa Grama Niladhari Division, within the Kobeigane Divisional Secretariat area.
