  • CENTRAL TROOPS AID A COMMUNITY-ORIENTED PROGRAM AT MEEGAHAKIWULA

    On the solemn request made by Venerable Girithale Ravindralankara Thero of the Ranagala Sri Walagamba Girilen Rajamaha Vihara, central troops provided assistance to conduct a felicitation and awarding ceremony for school students on 17 February 2024 at Meegahakiwula. Troops under 112 Infantry Brigade and 17 th Engineer Services Regiment, upon the guidance of Major General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc the Commander Security Force (Central), erected a massive parabolic hut to shelter a great number of students and parents during the felicitation event conducted in the premises of Meegahakiwula National School. The event organizers highly commended the Army’s assistance and they expressed gratitude to Commander of the Army.

  • ARMY RESPONDS TO RESCUE MISSING TOURIST AT KOSLANDA

    Mr. Josef Pfanner , 76 years old tourist from Germany, went missing at the Koslanda area during the evening hours on 14 February 2024. The management of the Melheim Resort, Haputale requested assistance of the Sri Lanka Army in order to rescue the missing German guest who had left the resort for jogging and wandering.

  • HAMBANTHOTA TROOPS CLEAN UP THE OKKAMPITIYA HOSPITAL PREMISES

    Troops under Security Force Headquarters (Central) conductedanother community-oriented program at B/Al Badriya Muslim MahaVidyalaya is Diyatalawa on 10 February 2024. On the guidelines ofMajor General Rohitha Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander Security Force (Central), a group of soldiers engaged in a cleanup drive at the school premises with the assistance of the parents. Army’s effort created a fascinating and comfortable environment for the students and the teachers.

  • ARMY COORDINATION GETS SPONSORSHIP FOR ADVANCED LEVEL STUDENTS IN BADULLA DISTRICT

    On the conceptual initiatives of Commander 112 Infantry Brigade, a sponsorship programme to distribute stationeries and education support accessories was conducted by the 112 Infantry Brigade. Accordingly, a number of students who have got through the G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination were interviewed and out of them, 4 students were selected to offer the sponsorship on 10 February 2024.

  • CENTRAL TROOPS REVAMP BLOCKED CULVERT AT KALUAMBATENNA
