  • WEST TROOPS CARRY OUT BEACH CLEANING PROJECT

    One officer and 40 Other Ranks belonging to 14(v) Battalion Gamunu Watch under the 613 Infantry Brigade of 61 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West) launched a coastal belt cleaning project on 28 January 2023, in the Dewata coastal area in Galle, which remained highly polluted due to heaps of discarded wrappers, empty beer cans and polythene waste.

  • WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN CLEARING AN UPROOTED TREE IN KOLONNAWA

    Army personnel of 2 (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 144 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) have extended their assistance in clearing a large tree near the Divisional Secretariat - Kollonnawa, which had been fallen along the Kolonnawa–Rajagiriya road due to heavy rains, around the evening hours on 25 January 2023 disrupting the movement traffic on the Kolonnawa - Rajagiriya road.

    Upon the assistance requested by the Yatiyantota police station to evacuate an unknown dead body stuck in a stone hole, a group of Army personnel along with the Commanding Officer of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under 611 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West) has been dispatched to evacuate the dead body that has been stuck in a stone hole about 10 feet from the surface of the ground in the General area Denankawa watta, Peragas junction, Yatiyantota at around afternoon hours on 24 January 2023.
