A special religious programme intending to transfer merits on the dead in the flood disaster and all fallen War Heroes as well as to invoke blessings on the Commander of the Army and all serving Army personnel got underway at Panagoda Sri Bodhirajaramaya Thursday (7) evening following an initiative taken by Mrs Nayana De Silva, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and ladies in the ASVU.

‘Viru Kekulu’ Pre-school Children Observe Sil : 2017-06-16 17:56:11

To coincide with the ‘Poson Poya’ day religious observances, the ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school children at Panagoda observed Sil on Wednesday (7). Sil observance campaign organized by the pre-school and the Army Seva Vanitha Unit was conducted by Ven Kobawaka Vimaladamma Thero, the Chief Incumbent residing at Mawathagama temple, Homagama. Alms for Sil observing children were offered by the parents of the children.

Kids at ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school, Minneriya recently got together to held their annual Sports Meet at the Infantry Square Playground in Minneriya. All the students in the pre-school took part in a variety of games and sports, including ‘Butterfly Game’, ‘Who is the Joker’, ‘Washing Time’, ‘Colour Pyramid’, ‘Who is the faster’, ‘Little Painter’, ‘Maco Parrots’, ‘Floor Dance’, etc. A separate fun-making event for parents too added colour to the event.

Kids at ‘Viru Kekulu’ pre-school, Pallekele had their Annual Sports Meet at the pre-school premises in Pallekele on Monday (27). All the students in the pre-school participated in various sports activities, including Balancing Game, Bee-hive making, Relay-running, Hopping Game, Fun with rings and ball, Rabbit Game, Fun with coconut shell game, Ball Game and other team events. A separate fun-making event for parents added colour to the event.

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit’s latest project, Day Care Centre building at Manning Town Viru Kekulu pre-school premises was ceremonially opened on Wednesday (29) by its architect, Mrs Nayana De Silva, President, ASVU. Mrs Nayana De Silva as the Chief Guest attended the opening ceremony and unveiled the plaque to open the new building. She was warmly welcomed by two kids, a son and a daughter after a offerings her a sheaf of betel.
