    A sudden fire occurred in Diwithotawela area in the Badulla District in the evening on 12 June 2018. The mentioned area is located within Security Forces (Central) responsible area and the troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) controlled the fire on the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG.

  • NEW COLONEL GENERAL STAFF AT SFHQ (CENTRAL) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Lieutenant Colonel P K S Nandana RSP USP psc assumed duties as the new Colonel General Staff at the Security Forces Headquarters (Central) at an auspicious time on 12 June 2018 at the office premises. Lieutenant Colonel P K S Nandana RSP USP psc took over the duties after the relinquishment of the duties of former Colonel General Staff, Colonel C S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP psc IG.

  • 122 TROOPS CONTRIBUTED FOR THE SUCCESS OF A COMMUNAL EFFORT.

    Donating blood is the most charitable affair in one’s life which the majority of the ordinary people cannot fulfill throughout the life whereas the military personnel always show a tendency towards donating blood. Accordingly, Troops at 122 Brigade Headquarters also voluntarily donated blood at a campaign which was organized by Praboda Urban Association (Grameeya Praboda Samitiya). The mentioned association is established under the Samurdhi Bank, Uduwila in Thissamaharama Divisional Secretariat. Further, this charity campaign was held on 02 June 2018 at Thissapura Vidyalaya which is located in the responsible area of 122 Brigade of Security Forces Headquarters (Central).

  • NEW CHIEF CLERK AT GENERAL STAFF BRANCH OF SFHQ (CENTRAL) ASSUMES DUTIES

    Warrant Officer 1, J M N K Jayasundarabelongs to 5 Filed Engineers assumed duties as the new Chief Clerk at General Staff Branch of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) at an auspicious time on 08 June 2018 at the office premises.

  • MALAPUDUKAPOLLA TANK WAS CLEANED

    Malapudukapolla tank in Ambegoda Grama Niladari Division was cleaned by the troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) on 08 June 2018. Responding to a request made by the Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat Office the troops were tasked by the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG.

  • 11 DIVISION TOOK MEASURES TO PROTECT THE NATURE

    A tree planting programme was launched coinciding with the World Environment Day and the National Tree Planting Week by 11 Division of Security Forces (Central). On 02 June 2018 this tree planting programme took place with the participation of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Brigadier T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu, all the officers as well as other ranks of the division participated

    A dhamma sermon was conducted at Security Forces Headquarters (Central) for Officers as well as Other Ranks at the Headquarters, on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG. This was conducted on 07 June 2018 from 1530 hours to 1630 hours at the lecture hall of the headquarters, aiming to uplift the spiritual values which help the troops to be more relaxed when discharging their duties.

  • TROOPS OF 3 SR RECOVERED THE DEAD BODY OF THE MISSING SOLDIER

    The dead body of Private N.W.D.U Sampath of 24 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment was recovered by 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) soldiers in late evening on 04 June 2018. The dead soldier went missing while bathing in the Meepanawa Oya in Udupussellawa, Nuwara Eliya District on 02 June 2018. This soldier faced the tragedy while bathing in the gushing waters of Meepanawa Oya in close to Udupussellawa Hydro Power Station.
