A sudden fire occurred in Degalaramba, Kumbukkana in the Monaragala District on 07 July 2018. The mentioned area is located within the responsible area of 121 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) and the troops controlled the fire on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG.

A series of events were organized by the 11 Division of Security Forces (Central) on the promotion of the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Major General T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu to the rank of Major General on 04 July 2018. Major General Nanayakkara received the salute of the Guard of Honour by the troops of 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI). Following that an all rank tea was arranged at the camp premises. On the same day Major General Nanayakkara along with Senior Officers and Officers at 11 Division participated in a lunch arranged at the 5 SLLI unit premises. Further, all the Officers and Other Ranks extended well wishes to the GOC of 11 Division.

This timely lecture was organized with the instructions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndcpsc IG.

Thousands of earnest devotees hailing from all communities specially Tamil Hindus are undertaking the annual Pada Yatra or foot pilgrimage through Yala National Park to Katharagama during Esala festival that commence in the month of July every year. The Katharagama Pada Yatra traditionally starts from Nallur and Selva Sannidhi Murugan Kovils in the Jaffna peninsula where pilgrimage may take approximately two months to reach Katharagama. During this event pilgrims used to reach the destination with a lot of hardships. Therefore, it is essential to provide required assistance to the participants in order to ensure the safety and security during the journey within the respective AOR.

A Kadala Dansala was organized on 26 June 2018 by the Viru Kekulu Pre School, Diyatalawa which is under command to Security Forces (Central) on the account of Poson Full Moon Poya Day which falls on 27 June 2018. The Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndc psc IG as well as senior officers, officers and other ranks of this Headquarters participated in this Dansala. The students of the pre school served Kadala to all the participants and civilians of the area.
