  • SECURITY FORCES CENTRAL ORGANIZED A TIMELY LECTURE ON EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

    Officers at Security Forces Headquarters (Central) were lectured on Effective Communication. This timely lecture was conducted by retired Lieutenant Colonel Wasantha Pamunuwa on 30 May 2018 at Security Forces Headquarters (Central). Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (Central), Colonel C S Munasinghe WWV RWP RSP USP psc IG and 42 officers from this Headquarters, under command Divisions, Brigades and Units participated in this lecture.

  • MILITARY PERSONNEL LAUNCHED RELIEF OPERATIONS

    The heavy rainfall across the country has caused havoc in many provinces and the Central Province which is in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) has faced a disastrous situation. Further, it is reported that, one person in Pilimathalawa in the Kandy District drowned in the flood. Therefore, the relief operations are carried out by 2 officers and 16 other ranks from 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps and 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in the mentioned area on 25 May 2018.

  • THE FOUNDATION STONE WAS LAID FOR THE NEW OFFICERS’ MESS AT 11 DIVISION

    The foundation stone for the new Officers’ Mess and the Officers' Living Area at 11 Division of Security Forces (Central) was laid by the General Officer Commanding of 11 Division, Brigadier T J Nanayakkara RWP USP ndu on 24 May 2018 at an auspicious time.

  • CELEBRATION OF THE NATIONAL WAR HEROES COMMEMORATIVE DAY

    The National War Heroes Commemorative Day was celebrated in remembrance of the fallen war heroes at the War Heroes Monument, Badulla on 15 May 2018 from 0915 hours to 1155 hours with the participation of the Acting Governor of Central Province, honorable P B Dissanayake and the Chief Minister of Uva Province, Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake.

  • TROOPS CONTROLLED A SUDDEN FIRE

    A sudden fire broke out in New Lakmini Trade Centre in Monaragala Town which is located in 12 Division area in Security Forces (Central) on 21 May 2018 around 0200 hours. Further 3 officers and 30 soldiers from 121 Brigade took prompt actions to control the fire.

  • THE NATIONAL WAR HEROES COMMEMORATIVE DAY WAS CELEBRATED

    The National War Heroes Commemorative Day was celebrated in remembrance of the fallen war heroes on 18 May 2018 in accordance with the directions of the Commander, Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias USP ndc psc IG, at the Headquarters premises with the participation of all officers and other ranks at Security Forces Headquarters (Central).

  • THE CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF VISITS KANDY

    The Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, General Bipin Rawath UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC Visited Kandy which is in the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) on 15 May 2018 along with Madam Rawath and 7 other representatives. On the same day the newly built Communication Technology Training Laboratory (CTT Lab) in the School of Signals, Buwelikada was inaugurated by the General Rawath and they also worshipped the Sri Dalanda Maligawa. Next day, General Rawath visited the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa and planted a sapling of Na in remembrance of his visit to the Military Academy
