Lieutenant General (Retd) Hamood Uz Zaman Khan, the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence - the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is attending the 4th Round of Pakistan - Sri Lanka Armed Forces Defence Dialogue (AFDD) in Colombo made a formal visit to Kandy on 02 January 2024. The Defence Secretary along with his wife and the delegation consisting three officials flew from Colombo to Kandy in the morning, and visited prominent destinations in Kandy.

Besides the humanitarian assistance provided to disaster affected civil communities, troops of Security Force Headquarters (Central) made necessary initiatives to console the own staff who are distressed by disaster-related circumstances. Thus, on the directives of the security force commander, troops distributed dry ration packs, each worth of Rs. 6000.00 to 10 members of the civil staff serving at the headquarters, on 08 August 2023. The permanent staff at the headquarters contributed to the humanitarian donation.
